Wendy Laughlin lives in Sointula, Malcolm Island with her husband Kees. She is a collector of vintage sewing machines, a quilt maker, a weaver of rag rugs and a busy bee. She enjoys carrying on the fine arts and craft traditions of her Finnish heritage. She still has her great grandmother's loom and a big new quilting machine that takes up half of her basement.
